The projects you'll coordinate will primarily be privacy and data security compliance projects, and your team members will largely be privacy attorneys and other infosec professionals. Above all, this role demands excellent writing and note taking skills, technical facility, interest in infosec and data protection, fast typing skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills. We are particularly interested in candidates looking to grow into a project manager role with a tech or infosec background or interest. Experience with Agile or other project management methodology is a plus but not required.We have always been and will continue to be a remote team. We collaborate closely (you won't feel like you're working in isolation) and you'll learn from our experienced attorneys, project managers, and IT security auditors, but in a much more collaborative and friendly environment than your typical large law firm. We think using project management methodology in a legal setting is a no-brainer, though we are fairly unique in doing so, and we're always looking for ways to improve what we do, including how we utilize our project management team. We'd look to you, as we do all our team members, to think creatively about ways to improve the efficiency and excellence of the work product we deliver to clients. Finally, but very importantly, we pride ourselves on recognizing that our team members also have lives outside of work, and prioritize no-work weekends and work-life balance generally. Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesExecuting project plans within the constraints of a scope, schedule, and budgetAdvising clients on infosec considerations as part of a larger privacy compliance project (with training and support if needed)Maintaining the daily record keeping needed to keep the project plans up to dateAttending meetings with the attorneys and clients, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining the meeting minutes and and action items from those meetingsReviewing and giving opinions on client vendor security practices (with support and training if needed)Understanding and assisting in documenting business processesEnsuring that you, your team, and the project operate within the company's policies, guidelines, and proceduresAssessing team member needs and utilization in order to maintain a distributed workloadEnsure transparency by regularly communicating status to the Program Manager and the attorneys leading each project Flagging potential issues/risks for managementCommunicating with clients in relation to tasks and meetingsSoft Skills RequiredComfortable working in a technical environment and using technical vocabularyStrong desire and ability to keep things organizedFluency in EnglishStrong attention to quality and detailComfort with a role that requires a lot of note and minutes takingInterest in following infosec and data protection industry developmentsInterest in working with an international team and client baseMultitaskingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProactive problem solvingTeam playerComfortable working with new software tools (eg Jira, Asana, and Teamwork) as well as GSuite and/or Microsoft Office.Note: We may ask you to participate in a short skills assessment as a first step in the selection/interview process.Preferred Experience 4+ years of experience, preferably in IT management or support, or as a project coordinator, scrum master, or project managerExperience taking detailed notes or meeting minutesExperience or proximity to IT projects, especially IT security projects, is a strong plus Experience in healthcare or biotech is a plus, experience with HIPAA security audits is a strong plusAmateur coding ability or interest is a plusEducation/CertificationsBasic scrum master and/or project management certification are strongly preferred (eg CSM; CAPM; Prince2 Foundation level); additional certifications are a plus but not required.IT audit / IT security / cyber security certifications are a plus (eg, CISM or CISA certifications)Legal background or relevant experience is a plusAgile Framework knowledge is a plusIAPP Privacy certifications are a plus (if you don't have them, we'll help you get them!)
