Heavy Equipment Operator - Ft. Belvoir Project Site APTIM is currently seeking to fill a Heavy Equipment Operator position at our Ft. Belvoir, VA project site. Under the Supervision of a Site Supervisor, employees will provide outside support of contractors for building decommissioning activities at Fort Belvoir. The successful candidate will be trained to work in or near radiological support areas; ability to work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) attire is mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully to all project team members. Work schedule will be daytime hours, Monday-Friday 8-10 hours per day.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Ensures that any safety incidents are promptly communicated and managed in accordance with company protocols.Operate excavator (including shears and grapple), skid steer, loader and telescoping forklifts, as needed.When not operating equipment, work will include use of hand tools to dismantle equipment, install silt fence, rip rap.Assist in environmental RAD monitoring.Ability to work in a team environment in a safe and productive manner.Perform other general labor work in support of project activities, as neededPerform daily inspections and maintenance on equipment.Ensures that any safety incidents are promptly communicated and managed in accordance with company protocols.Basic Qualifications: Prior experience working in a field construction environment a plus.Minimum 5 years of continuous experience operating primarily excavators, forklifts, and skid steers.Previous environmental project work preferred.Must be fully COVID 19 vaccinated.Must be local to Fort Belvoir, VAAbility to pass background check, if required.Clean driving record with valid license.Able to pass BAT/DS, general physical and DOT examDependable transportation and cell phone service
