In this role, you will ensure 100% customer satisfaction while overseeing customer installations from pre-construction to final installation.POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Buyer is responsible for vendor management and the initiation of purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Manages vendors by monitoring vendor pricing, shipping, ensuring order confirmations are received, and administering returns.Negotiates prices and lead time of products with vendors.Creates reports in SAP ECC for confirmations of purchase orders and daily exceptions.Addresses delivery issues and reports of last minute issues for upcoming installs.Addresses receiving issues with vendor shipments.Manages vendor scorecard and holds vendors accountable by assessing vendor's customer service standards using vendor report cards.Manages subcontractor records and scorecard - tracks installer insurance, cancellation, delays with installs, and damages.Performs cancel log review and analysis - reviews the reason for cancellation and updates the vendor scorecard to reflect the vendor issue.Reconciles purchase orders for invoicing.Reviews and processes return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) and negotiates credits with vendors.Creates purchase orders for demo and sample items for sales and field staff.Processes installer deductions and invoices for payment.Communicates with other departments as needed to meet customer service goals.Responds to material gaps to resolve urgent customer issues.SKILLS & ABILITIES: Education/Experience: Bachelors' Degree and at least 3 years' experience in purchasing/ buying; any equivalent combination of education and experience.Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
