Data Center Site Engineer Ashburn, VALong Term Contract ROLE OPERATES ON 12 HOUR SHIFTS Midnight to noon - 12 AM TO 12 PM Job Summary: World-class data center seeking experienced Data Center Site Engineer for long term project role.In general, what we are looking for is hands-on, layer one, support engineers. The main requirements are cabling (copper / fiber), racking and stacking (servers/network hardware/storage/security devices), and hardware maintenance (replacing hard drives, power supplies, memory, cars).hands-on experience with the hardware primarily.Global Financial Leader with Exciting Data Center opportunityPhysical / hands-on essential workersUndergoing complex make-overCreative schedule enables extra days off compared to normal 5 days a weekPut family first Free weekly COVID TestingWFH Rotations Opportunities for growth and advancementUnique workload each day (not the same thing every day)Basic responsibilities would include but not limited to: Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage and enterprise servers).Running, tracing, dressing and testing copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device.Familiarity with Patch PanelsTroubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware/connectivity.Commission and Decommission of HardwareMust be able to perform component replacement (DIMMs, hard drives, power supplies).Adhere to Change Control ProcessesRequired Skills: Previous experience working in a complex high availability data center environment providing layer one hardware installation, ongoing maintenance, problem identification and incident resolution.A strong working knowledge of data center processes and design.Hands on expertise of midrange systems in large scale (100+ servers) environments- IBM, HP, Oracle, & Dell server hardware.Exceptional troubleshooting and problem resolution skills and the ability to document complex problem resolution summaries and repetitive tasks interfaces through an online ticketing system.Understanding of switch/port configurationsCritical thinking and decision making related to outage risk assessmentStrong cable management skills and experience managing fiber & copper in a data center environment.Desired Skills: Certifications: A+, Server+, or Network+Technical writing and documentation skills are preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Job Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $26.00 - $28.00 per hourSchedule:12 hour shiftNight shiftWork Location: One location
