Job descriptionWe are a high-end plastic surgery practice looking for an experienced and highly-professional medical assistant to join our team The candidate must display a pleasant personality and disposition and work well with a team within a fast-paced environment. He or she will assist the physicians(s) with patient procedures and serve as a resource for patients from initial visit through their post-operative care, ensuring the highest quality clinical care.The candidate must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interact with patients in a friendly and compassionate manor at all times.Responsiblities: Handle patient flow appropriately, escorts patients from waiting area to exam and procedure rooms and prepares them for their visit. Discussed reason for visit and prepares patient and room for anticipated procedure. Managing the room manager in Nextech.Assists with maintaining a healthy, safe environment to staff and patients at all times.Explain consents for injectables and obtains signatures when appropriateApply topical numbing medications as needed.Draws up medications as needed and cleans rooms in between each patient visit according to updated COVID-19 protocolsEscort patients to check out following office visits, and procedures. As well as being available for back up check out when needed and stock rooms appropriately.Proper disposal and replacement of biohazard trash and sharps container in each room weekly.Assist physician(s) as needed for office visits and office procedures and anticipates doctor's needs.Send out path specimens as needed.Create pre-op folders for both Doctors and pre-op patients accordingly.Explain pre and post-operative instructions to patients, ensuring they are prepared for procedures and understand post-operative care.Provide patient education in the office, over the phone, and through email interactions.Ensure patients have completed the necessary pre-operative testing and physical and that appropriate documents have been received prior to surgery.Provide routine dressing changes as well as suture removalsAssist with breast reconstruction tissue expansion, breast assessmentCapture patients before and after photos on Vectra and Camera, and then uploading practice EMR systems.Perform weekly inventory on injectable productsSetting up rooms appropriately for each patient.Injectable patients: Make sure the appropriate products are in the room. Include correct size syringe and needle, alcohol swab, gauze and obtain consent forms. Understand how to draw up and prepare injectable products.Procedure patients: Appropriate room set- up for each office procedure to include appropriate instruments, lidocaine, and consent forms. Breakdown and clean up following procedures.Sterilize instruments and packaging them appropriately throughout the day. As well as sterile Q-Tips, and tongue blades.Understanding Nextech, Microsoft Office, and IPad.Able to answer phones, schedule/ reschedule appointments, and document in patients charts.Able to answer clinical patient questions.Knowledgeable of the skin care and makeup products we carry.Additional assignments as neededJob Type: Part-timeJob Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:We are taking all necessary precautions to provide a safe and healthy environment for both our staff and patients.Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Medical Assisting: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
