Product Operations (Manager level)

Authorizations are the day-to-day face of Capital One to its millions of cardholding customers. When customers use their cards, an authorization request is sent through a complex web of systems and technologies across the payments industry. Across this payments stack, the authorization is routed, inspected, and ultimately decisioned: "approve" or "decline."

Capital One's Authorizations Platform evaluates more than 16M credit card charges per day. Our team is made up of a suite of products that enable the routing, inspecting, and decisioning of those authorizations. We are on a journey to expand the scale and impact of our team by embracing innersourcing to make it more easy, fast, and simple to contribute to our platform. As the Program Manager for the Authorizations Platform, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a productive platform ecosystem for our teams, customers, and stakeholders. Initially, you will focus on defining our platform's approach to innersourcing. From there, your day-to-day will entail execution and delivery of innersourcing operations, platform support, and program team ceremonies, as well as other horizontal program initiatives such as end-to-end testing, program reporting, data stewardship, and our well-managed agenda.

You will:
  • Work horizontally to drive a unified platform vision across Authorizations;
  • Deliver and own documentation, servicing, and measurement of our federated platform model;
  • Setup and oversee platform support systems for our internal customers;
  • Manage program-level ceremonies with platform leadership;
  • Plan and execute end-to-end testing across platform product teams;
  • Define and own additional horizontal platform initiatives such as platform reporting, data stewardship, and our well-managed agenda.

We are looking for someone with / who has:
  • An exceptional ability to influence and unite diverse stakeholders towards a common goal;
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in our industry and its underlying technology;
  • Commitment to quality and an ability to dive deep into complex problems and decision making;
  • Ability to not only deal with ambiguity, but also develop personal ownership and provide collective clarity in such situations;
  • An innate bias for action;
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process management, Product operations or Product delivery
