DESCRIPTION The Mechanical CAD Technician shall be able to develop construction plans including mechanical and plumbing drawings for a variety of new and renovation type projects. Experience with transportation infrastructure facilities including airports is a plus. The selected candidate will work with the current Senior Mechanical staff. They will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and other building systems engineers. The successful candidate is a responsible and accountable technician and will have creative solution-finding, organizational, and time management skills, a track record of producing projects on time and on budget, high standards for quality and performance. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to: Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to complete construction drawings Perform work from Engineer's markups and sketches under minimum supervision Assist with the preparation of designs, design calculations, producing BIM models and construction drawings for a variety of clients Work closely with engineers to complete design and/or analysis of the mechanical and plumbing systems Assist in preparation of quantity calculations and construction cost estimates Coordinate or perform field work to gather data and materials Perform quality control procedures such as reviewing project deliverables prior to client submissions PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate degree in technical drafting 3-5 years of CADD experience Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). MicroStation experience a plus.
