TalentLogistiX is hiring for an entry-level position for a Building Management System (BMS) Engineer (otherwise known as a Building Automation System (BAS)). As such, the BMS Applications Engineer is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up of Energy Management Systems and HVAC Control Systems in commercial environments that includes the computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors a building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as ventilation, lighting, power systems, fire systems, and security systems as well as the software and hardware that uses communication protocols such as C-Bus, Profibus, Internet/cloud-integrated, and open standards such as DeviceNet, SOAP, XML, BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus or KNX. Essential Functions: Utilize your BMS knowledge to design, troubleshoot and implement solutions including HVAC Controls Systems programming and field installation , Controls Wiring, field Mechanical Installations. Willingness to learn Energy Management Systems (EPMS) basics and field deployment, in order to program, configure, test, and install Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for Energy management (Power Systems). Including graphical screen and points database in office and at customer sites, energy meters and communications configuration, basics Energy Controls (PLCs and transfer schemes), power management software (training), etc. Lead our onsite deployment team. Occasional assistance helping write BMS proposals and quotes. Entrepreneurial mindset While at client sites you might have to: Use hands to lift and handle computers, tools, or controls communications devices. Talk with contractors and other non-Qubits staff. Lift or move equipment that might be up to 75 lbs. in weight. Technical Subject Matter Expertise Support internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of expertise, trouble shooting, design, service and installation of Qubits' products and services. Client Success Liaison Act as an intermediary between the company and the client to meet the client's need for information, support, assistance, reports, and training. Help the company understand the customer's needs, expectations, or difficulties by monitoring and responding to emails or phone calls, reporting information from the client to the company, training clients in procedures, and preparing training material. Maintain high-level professional communication skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of all systems used by the client base. Coordinate technical troubleshooting and resolves problems, traveling if necessary, to train customers or give assistance. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor of Building Automation or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or similar. Associates Degree will be accepted with the right experience. Experience: At least 12 months hands-on design and field commissioning of HVAC Controls systems. At least 12 months using communication protocols such as Modbus and BACnet for Data Acquisition Systems. Controls of RTU, AHU, Chillers, etc. Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic understanding of electrical safety and arc flash hazards. Basic understanding of BMS and installation of HVAC control systems. Basic understanding of communication protocols and interfaces such as Ethernet, ModBus, BACnet Basic understanding of Programable Logic Controllers (PLC) and DCS controllers for HVAC. Demonstrated ability to read mechanical drawings (also electrical oneline systems would be ideal) Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups both within and external to the company to achieve desired results. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Language Skills Ability to write business correspondence via email and read procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
