Description: Job Title: Spec, Electrical EngrgJob Code: CS20210907-64715Job Location: Columbia, MD / Rochester, NY / Sunrise, FL Job Description: Candidate will work in a cooperative team environment with cross functional teams to develop and verify embedded FPGA firmware for software-defined radio applications. Candidate will be required to analyze requirements, create FPGA specifications and development plans, code firmware designs in VHDL, code test benches in System Verilog, and verify designs meet requirements. Essential Functions: Design, develop, modify and evaluate FPGA designs for communications systems.Develop self-checking test benches for FPGA design verification and validation.Perform analysis including requirements analysis, use case scenarios, conceptual design, trade studies, test, operation, and maintenance of radio communications products.Document FPGA designs using block diagrams and interface design specifications.Work with cross functional teams as needed to define and refine design requirements.Assist in development of high-level and detailed verification test plans and test benches consistent with system requirements and specificationsAssist in preparation of design and implementation reviews. Present technical briefings and status to internal customers.Qualifications:BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering discipline or another STEM Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC based embedded system solutions.Preferred Additional Skills:Working knowledge and experience with vendor specific FPGA simulation tools (Mentor Questa, Riviera Pro)Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug FPGA firmware and related hardware issuesProficiency in Object Oriented Programming(C++, JAVA)Working knowledge of Ethernet Standard and design experience related to Ethernet packet processing.Active SECRET ClearanceExperience in FPGA/ASIC development using VHDL or VerilogExperience in FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilogDemonstrated ability to analyze and debug FPGA firmware and related hardware issuesExperience with FPGA Vendor Specific FPGA Implementation tools (Vivado/Quartus)Ability to work efficiently with remotely located teams and co-workersMotivated, self-starter, who works well in team environments.Ability to communicate technical concepts/solutions.Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance#LI-PM1
