Our mission is to provide our customers with the highest quality Vegetation Management Services available in a manner that promotes safety, environmental sensitivity, and instills pride in our employees, partners, and our industry Job Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible to manage and promote Pittman's Safety Program throughout the organization. Focusing on exceeding industry standards, being the SME on regulatory and consensus standards and ensuring 100% compliance with industry requirements. The Safety Manager will oversee a team of direct reports with a focus on team / organizational development. While identifying root cause to develop training which promotes a reduction in incidents or accidents to ensure all employees have a safe working environment. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for working with and assisting the VP of Operations with the following: * Conduct Weekly Safety Call with a focus on message and compliance. * Conduct Quarterly Safety Meeting with analysis on all aspects of safety metrics. * Ability to leverage metrics to develop programs that promote improvement. * Develop annual company safety and health goals and measure attainment. * Daily site inspections to ensure compliance in all aspects of safety. * Review contract safety requirements and incorporate into the Safety Program. * Oversee the Safety team with a focus on growth and skill development. * Be the subject matter expert on regulatory and industry consensus requirements * Reviewing changes to regulatory requirements and ensure proper communication and adherence. * Partner with teams to ensure 100% compliance to all industry standards. * Lead and develop root cause analysis for Safety related incidents. * Strong understanding of Utility line clearance standards * Own investigations and develop effective corrective actions as required. * Face of the organization for Customer related Safety matters * Perform other tasks as assigned by the leadership team. Travel Required: The Safety Manager requires daily travel between crew locations with occasional overnight stays. Minimum Qualifications: * CTSP Certification, desirable. * ISA Certification, desirable. * Prior Vegetation Management or Utility / Forestry experience desired * History of strong communication, management, and leadership skills are essential. * Working knowledge of ANSI Standards and OSHA Laws. * OSHA General Industry 30-hour course (required). * Prior experience running and developing a Safety Program. * Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. * Requires ability to walk/stand for extended periods and traverse by foot over smooth and rough terrain for review of work sites. * Minimum 3-5 + years' work experience. * Must have valid driver's license.
