This role will function as the p rincipal System Engineer supporting architecture and model-based system engineering development for a US Navy, major weapon system. They will work in a collaborative environment with multiple levels of engineers, providing direct support to senior stakeholders. Responsibilities: Participate in design working group and technical interchange meetings Develop and manage DODAF architecture and Model Based System Engineering products and initiatives for a US Navy, Major Weapon System in support of system engineering program development Review and analyze system requirements and identify impacts to the appropriate requirements and/or design specifications Coordinate systems integration with multiple, land-based platforms Support system specification updates and associated performance enhancements and interface development / upgrade efforts Maintenance of design traceability and design documentation Provide subject matter expertise and systems engineering to maintain system design alignment with external programs of record Identify integration issues and system requirements discrepancies across multiple systems Maintain system and software design in model-based systems engineering tool Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting DoD acquisition/engineering practices Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing model-based systems and digital engineering processes, principles, techniques, and procedures in the development of DODAF architectures for naval systems Expert knowledge of and ability with model-based systems engineering tools such as MagicDraw or other SysML modeling tools Additional Requirements: Due to the requirements in the Safer Federal Workforce Taskforce guidance and the nature of our covered contracts and facilities, all employees may need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a legal exemption with approved accommodation. Preferred Skills & Experience: In-depth knowledge of Naval Surface Warfare programs and architectures such as AEGIS and Tomahawk Extensive experience with MagicDraw supporting NAVSEA programs Education: Bachelor of Science in engineering, mathematics, physics or computer science Minimum Clearance: Final Secret Clearance Location: Dahlgren, VA Why Work for SimVentions?
