In this role, you will work collaboratively with business partners across the organization as the subject matter expert for the actuarial valuation of the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and other products within the retirement business. Responsibilities: Your daily duties may include:Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure smooth continued valuation operations, including discussions with retirement business segments modeling, finance, investment, and pricing departments.Ensure AXIS models and reporting process for the retirement business are appropriate, documented, and well controlled. Identify opportunities for continual process improvement and manage efforts to implement these improvements. Work closely with Corporate Actuarial as the business model owner to ensure models are appropriate.Work with the retirement pricing team to on-board new deals. This will include having a detailed understanding of specifications, addressing reserving requirements, and working with Corporate Actuarial to implement new deals within AXIS. Prepare and deliver management reports for monthly / quarterly / annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure clear communication, robust analysis, and identification of emerging issues to senior leaders. Support the valuation teams in preparing monthly / quarterly / annual reporting deliverables. Process year-end valuation materials for Maryland and New York DOI. Provide support for any audit of financial statements. Perform annual asset adequacy testing for the retirement business segment. Explain and document movement in results and analysis performed supporting the asset and liability cash flows used in the cash flow testing results. Provide valuation expertise on all valuation-related PRT projects, including new reinsurance solutions, changes in accounting practices (VM-22, IFRS 17), new product offerings, etc. Promote company culture by demonstrating our core behavioral competencies: Collaborative, Purposeful, and Straightforward. Maintain compliance with industry professional development guidelines. Participate in industry committees where necessary. Other job-related duties as required. Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills needed to be successful in this roleBS/BA in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fieldFSA, Advancing ASA or Career ASA with 12+ years experience7 years life insurance/actuarial experience including ValuationPrior Experience with Pension Risk Transfer agreementsExcellent/Proficient written and oral communication skills, including presentation skillsActuarial software skills (GGY Axis experience preferred)Database/Spreadsheet capabilities (Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL) including programming.Strong documentation skillsAbility to convey technical concepts to non-technical audienceComfortable with changing demands / priorities Ability to multi-task in a deadline-oriented environmentStrong actuarial analytical skills and problem solving abilityExcellent relationship building and collaboration skillsWere looking for exceptional, driven, strategically focused people who have a want and desire to impact the Company and protect families.
