Provides administrative direction, professional leadership adn clinical assistance to staff members. Functions in an advisory capacity to ancillary departments, on the evening and night shifts, as they relate to patient care. Supervises teh implementation and compliance with standards of nursing practice that promote optimum health care delivery.Pay & Benefits:In addition to salary, the benefit package includes paid major holidays, vacation/sick time, health & dental insurance, and 401(k) Qualifications: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred2 years of Healthcare/Medical-Nursing/Patient Care Experience is requiredAbility to demonstrate Leadership is requiredLicensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing is requiredAmerican Heart Association BLS Certification is requiredAmerican Heart Association ACLS Certification is to be obtained within 6 months of employement Responsibilities: Monitors and ensures nursing practice is in accordance with guidelines set by the regulatory agencies ie OSHA, VHIR.Defines the overall philosophy and objectives of nursing service in accordance with those of the hospital and interprets same to nursing personnel.Ensures proper and economic use of equipment and supplies and facilities for maintaining patient care.Investigates and reports to appropriate administrative personnel policy violations and takes corrective action as directed.Counsels, offers support and instructs staff in the integration of nursing and medical care of the patient.Participates as a member of the team on all Code Blue emergencies.Responds to patient, family, or physician inquires or complaints with appropriate information or referral if required.Coordinates and notifies administrative personnel when emergency situations develop. Refers non-emergency problems to the appropriate source.Serves as a liaison in the absence of department heads and administrative personnel.Collaborates with the medical staff to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.Advises, coordinates and/or refers problems of physicians to appropriate persons.
