Mascot Books is a hybrid publisher dedicated to helping authors professionally create a printed or digital book that matches their vision. With comprehensive editorial, design, production, marketing, and distribution services, our authors have the support of an experienced publishing team. We're seeking a social media and digital content manager who is comfortable taking on new challenges and has a passion for books.Responsibilities Propose and implement impactful marketing strategies to grow engagement and drive awareness of the Mascot Books brand, our imprints, and our products Manage day-to-day operation of company social media channels, including writing and producing effective, share-worthy content by working collaboratively with marketing colleagues, other internal teams, and authors Utilize analytics and establish benchmarks to track social media strategy efficacy and audience growth Occasionally oversee advertising campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including administering campaign budgets, writing ad copy, and delivering metrics Monitor trends in social media, the publishing industry, and other relevant fields to keep companys digital presence up-to-date Assist with planning organizations rebrand and ensure uniform branding across digital channels at all times Maintain website, with assistance from internal and external team members, and write engaging promotional web copy as needed Curate content calendar for blog, including writing and editing posts as well as soliciting additional material from clients and colleagues Strategize with full internal marketing team and other departments on corporate marketing initiatives and pitches Identify and pursue opportunities for new content channels that have the potential to expand brand reach and strengthen engagement with existing followers Occasionally work collaboratively with authors to develop and execute book marketing plans for titles across all genres. Marketing campaign execution includes: developing branded marketing materials, drafting press releases, conducting media outreach, writing social media copy, and more.Requirements Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Digital Media, or related field required Excellent social media skills (including experience with at least Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) required 25 years of social media and content management experience required 12 years client management/relations experience preferred Excellent copywriting and editing skills preferred Basic graphic design knowledge preferred Digital analytics experience preferred Candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and a creative problem solver Candidate should be able to prioritize completing tasks and meet deadlines Proficiency with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office Suite, and online cloud tools (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Due to COVID-19, the Mascot Books office is partially remote.Ability to commute/relocate:Herndon, VA 20170: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:Bachelor's (Required)Experience:Social media management: 2 years (Required)Client Relations: 2 years (Preferred)Copywriting: 2 years (Preferred)SEO: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
