The Public Affairs Council is seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager with exceptional writing, editing and PR skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and writer with a strong marketing sensibility and is a hawk-like copy editor and proofreader with an eye for detail and a mastery of grammar, punctuation and AP Style. The position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. This position is a mix of in-office and remote work. Key Responsibilities Write, edit and proofread marketing copy for the Council's conferences, events, executive education and publications, working closely with program leads to enhance messaging to target audiences. Manage the Council's social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Develop and design content of interest to members and other public affairs professionals. Work closely with program managers and membership team to develop engaging content about the Council's conferences, events and member benefits. Help manage media outreach. Work closely with political and business reporters and develop story ideas, media pitches and collateral to increase awareness of Council research, events and expertise. Maintain and build media lists and monitor story placements and clips. Serve as Associate Editor of the Council's monthly digital newsletter. Review and edit copy, develop design concepts for stories and ads, layout articles in digital templates, write articles as needed and ensure timely delivery. Serve as Editor of the Council's digital network newsletters for several practice area member groups. Work closely with the senior director to develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics to elevate the Council's brand awareness and grow events and programming.
