Position SummaryWe are seeking an ambitious and technically savvy support specialist to join our growing team. You will learn how our products function and pick up on the industry's latest technologies. You will use your strong communication skills while working directly with our clients and partners to provide technical assistance and customer support. As a technical support specialist, you will be able to resolve most inquiries on the spot, delivering an exceptional customer service experience. Through multiple channels of communication in our Ticket Management system, you will respond to queries, diagnose and isolate problems, and determine solutions to resolve issues. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build on and enhance your customer relations and technical skills.Role and ResponsibilitiesServe as the first or second point of contact for customers seeking assistanceProvide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to our web application, OpenALPR, and hardware productsSolve customer problems independently and/or in collaboration with the technical support and engineering teamsGathering relevant information to diagnose an issue and communicating with other teams' members to resolve issuesRecord events and problems and their resolution in logsPass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal teamAbility to understand the various services offered and utilize the information to efficiently resolve user related issues.Qualifications and Education RequirementsAssociate's degree in Computer Science or other relevant field1-3 years of experience in a technical support or help desk roleStrong Linux experience: comfortable working through Linux Terminal and Windows Command Prompt; comfortable installing programs in Linux and Windows; experience writing Linux shell scripts from scratchKnowledge of various computer systems and software applicationsKeen attention to detail and interest in problem-solvingExperience in Django admin portal or similar visualization applicationBasic knowledge of networkingKnowledge of video streaming protocols and codecs (RTSP, HTTP, MJPEG, H264, etc)Experience configuring network routers (port forwarding, etc)Knowledge of common camera settings (shutter, ISO, resolution, etc)Basic understanding of web server-client interactions including data-serialization via JSONPreferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with varying personalities and defuse sensitive situations under pressureStrong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMinimum of 30-35 words per minute typing skillsProficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to perform word processing and database maintenanceAbility to diagnose and resolve basic technical issuesExcellent communication skillsLicense Plate Recognition Experience a plusCJIS Certification a plusExperience with Ansible or similar productsJob Type: Full-time
