Job SummaryThe Financial Operations Associate role is client facing and provides everything from full charge bookkeeping to accounting services directly within each client's business. Each client will be different and may need support in a variety of areas, including: bookkeeping data entry, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax filings, inventory management, payroll and benefits administration, month-end close, and financial statement preparation and reporting. This role will function as a member of the client's team, including communicating with clients, vendors, and employees.To succeed in this role, you will need to work within the given budget for each client, use the client's financial softwares, adapt to scope changes, and be willing to jump in to support new clients or other team members - typically averaging between 5 to 15 clients at a time with budgets ranging from small to very large.This can be a part-time or full-time employee position depending on your availability, areas of interest, and expertise.This is a 100% remote position with flexible hours. We are a full-service outsourced bookkeeping firm, but we take pride in making clients feel like we're a part of their team. We take time to understand our clients' businesses, tailor our services accordingly, and provide them with the financial information they need to make informed, savvy decisions. Our Managing Director, Jennifer Yousem, has over 20 years of experience in financial planning, operations, and analysis in a variety of industries. We're growing fast and need to expand in order to keep up with and optimize our success and would love to welcome someone special to join our team.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesRecord financial transactions accurately and efficiently in the client's accounting software platform.Execute, as applicable, processes related to accounts payable, accounts receivable management, bookkeeping entries, inventory, and closing the books monthly.Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing client data and provide strategic recommendations regarding financial planning and forecasting with support from the Manager and/or the Managing Director.Manage day-to-day client relationships and projects while performing within established processes and budget parameters.Organize and respond to daily client communications within 24 hours of receipt using clear, empathetic, and client-friendly language.Identify client needs and recommend services or tools to drive additional client value and efficiency. Support client onboarding for all assigned clients in accordance with defined processes.RequirementsSkills That Will Enable You to ThriveYou are able to learn quickly, aren't afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and are proactive with your communication.You excel at balancing being thorough and efficient in a 100% remote work environment so you can exceed expectations with very limited supervision.You have strong project management and prioritization skills in order to manage the budget constraints and deadlines of ongoing work and juggle unexpected needs of clients as they arise.You are an intermediate or higher level bookkeeper. You've done full cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients and or companies and excel at it.You take pride in refining your communication, both written and verbal, and especially the ability to speak client-friendly language that adapts to each client's personality and preferences.You listen and are detail oriented with precision. We work in a variety of tools and software platforms depending on each client and you will need to be able to use them with some basic training, such as: MS Office 365, Clockify, Sharepoint, Quickbooks Desktop and Online, Xero,, Netsuite Microsoft Dynamics, and more.You have a reliable internet connection and can use video conferencing services to meet with clients.College education is required. Bachelor's in Accounting or related field preferred or an Associates plus equivalent experience. Minimum 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience across multiple companies. There is room for growth within the company and we will provide a 90 day training plan with clear expectations of performance, 30/60/90 day+ reviews, and a manager available to help set you up for success. We also offer two weeks of paid time off for our full-time employees. Work virtually from anywhere, whenever you want. You will need to meet our 24hr client response SLA and be available for client calls, but you can set your specific hours. We expect everyone to get their work done by their deadlines with high quality, but we don't care when it gets done.
