The HR Generalist will report to the Chief Financial Officer and handle a variety of aspects of Human Resources with the support of a part-time in-house Recruiter. As the company grows, additional hires into the HR Department will follow, with the hope of eventually promoting the HR Generalist to HR Manager. Check us out at www.optimalbeginning.com.HR Generalist Duties/Responsibilities: Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.Partners, advises, and counsels employees and managers to optimize employee engagement, team development, and organization effectiveness.Interprets and advises on human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws, standards, and best practices.Addresses basic to moderately complex HR-related inquiries from all levels of employees in all areas of the organization.Oversees the talent acquisition process and collaborates with Practice Managers to understand staffing needs of local offices.Supervises In-House Recruiter and acts as back up recruiter, when necessary.Oversees onboarding of new hires, including creation of offer letters, background checks, HR paperwork, staff orientation and creation of employee accountsTracks, maintains and builds training in designated online tracking systems by working with managers to ensure staff is fully trained according to the assigned requirements for the division served.Manages payroll processAdministers employee benefits, including group health insurance, 401(k), and FSA. Oversees annual Open Enrollment, enrolling new hires in benefits, offboarding outgoing employees, and managing COBRA. Acts as primary point of contact for employee benefit vendors and contracts.Manages annual employee performance review process.Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.Partners with leadership team to create and implement learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employeesMaintains up-to-date employee policies and procedures, trains employees on changes in policy, ensures ongoing compliance of employees with company policies.Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Ad hoc dutiesRequired Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.A minimum of three years of human resources experience preferred.SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:We have a comprehensive COVID preparedness plan that we are happy to share during the interview process.Application Question(s):When are you available to begin a new position?Experience:Human resources: 3 years (Preferred)License/Certification:SHRM Certified Professional (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
