Living Classrooms Foundation strengthens communities and inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."Living Classrooms Foundation leads a major community service and job-training initiative, Project SERVE (Service- Empowerment- Revitalization- Validation- Employment Training). Project SERVE primarily serves Baltimore's returning citizens by providing paid on-the-job training f in marketable skills while they revitalize Baltimore neighborhoods. The major goals of SERVE are to decrease the overall crime rate in Baltimore City by decreasing recidivism rates; positively impact communities with direct services; provide workforce development; increase education and service-learning opportunities; help keep city neighborhoods clean and safe by decreasing environmental hazards and risks to public safety and help provide housing renovations for low-income residents. Our staff provides ongoing wrap around case management support, along with one year of follow up for participants once they successfully complete our program.The Senior Case Manager is responsible for supervising the Case Managers and the Placement and Retention Coordinator at Project SERVE. The Senior Case Manager is responsible for ensuring participants receive guidance from Case Managers in setting goals and creating plans for goal achievement. In addition, they are responsible for supporting the Placement and Retention Coordinator in transitioning Project SERVE members into employment once they complete the program. In general, this includes assistance with the employment process, provision of job retention services, and cultivation of relationships, with participants, current and potential employer partners. The Senior Case Manager provides data supervision and ensures that case files are kept thoroughly and up to date with the proper information. The Senior Case Manager reports directly to the Director of Project SERVE.Primary ResponsibilitiesMember Development (Direct Service)Guide members in setting career, educational, and life goals; and in creating plans to achieve these goals.Assist Case Managers in preparing members for an organized job search, including the securing of ID, understanding background issues, creating current resumes and reference letters, and utilizing time management tools.Assist members in selecting and securing better employment.Prepare members for successful job interviews.Provide job retention services to help address issues before they lead to separation from employment.Encourage member participation in educational programs, particularly for those lacking a high school diploma.Coordinate the overall activities of case management staff.Data EntryMaintain daily records in client folders to document service provided to members, employers, and other supporting agenciesEnsure accurate and up to date data is kept for program participants in Birdseye Case Management SystemSupervise and assist with tracking all program participants for up to one year post program completion including individual case notes and employment retention dataProgram PartnershipsWork with committed employers to understand and meet their human resource and business needsSupervise and assist PRC in developing new employer relationships that will increase career opportunities for successful membersDevelop and maintain relationships with outside agencies to provide support servicesFacilitate and maintain relationships with partners and referral agenciesSupervisionManage case management department, including conducting regular performance evaluations, goals and actions, and file auditsSupervise Project SERVE's Placement and Retention Coordinator to ensure programmatic goals as it relates to placement and retention are metInterpret performance goals into service plan outcomesAdminister assessments related to program eligibility and identify risk factors that could impact participant successTrain and supervise case management staffFacilitate and supervise intake of new membersGeneral Skills and DutiesWillingness to work as a team member to meet Project SERVE's mission, objectives, and yearly goalsCommitment to honesty and integrity in the performance of all dutiesJOB QUALIFICATIONS. Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW), Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related social/behavioral science field.Bilingual - a plus. Ability to work effectively with people of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, from justice-involved individuals to public officials.Two-three years' experience in delivering case management services.Expertise in identifying local labor market data and effectively translating this information to participants.Knowledge and experience working with the criminal justice system.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
