Dependability is as core to our business as it is to our products.The Product Development Engineer (PDE I or II) is an integral role within our engineering team and includes diverse responsibilities ranging from marketing/sales support and engineering to product support functions for the company's Specialty Products (non-automotive) Group. Candidate is expected to display a very high degree of innovation, motivation, energy, and passion. Not only does this position requires a high level of critical thinking and broad engineering application knowledge, but it also demands expert communication and organization skills typically found in an experienced engineer.Responsibilities and DutiesDefine new product design requirements. With ability to understand and resolve information into a product design while maintaining the voice of the customer (or market) and how those influence design intent.Develop and reduce to practice robust test methodologies for new applications or unproven designs.Lead interaction with external customers and internal development teams to drive business development, targeting specific opportunities in non-automotive industries and newly defined prospects.Wholly own and manage product development projects, including part design and project management functions. Responsible for implementing effective APQP methodology for all stages of a project by maintaining accurate product development records in alignment with internal standards including regular updates to supervisor.Establish customer requirements, developing cost models and quoting (with approvals from Supervisor), project management and maintaining excellent customer relationship.Identify major industries and product opportunities, and aggressively pursue them to grow the business. Working within Engineering, Marketing and R&D to direct the pipeline development process of these new business opportunities.Provide effective production support; coordinate with other departments to effectively solve problems related to quality and delivery.Qualifications and SkillsEducation: Minimum of 4-year college education with an engineering discipline.
