Job Description Job Title: Expert Consultant - Professional Learning Based at : Baltimore , Maryland , USA Note : Work will be completed remotely, with occasional opportunities for in-person meetings at locations in Maryland.X Overview:In support of its mission to support educational equity and excellence for all students, to enhance outcomes for students with disabilities through a Personnel Development to develop personnel preparation and professional learning strategies that builds the systemic capacity of elementary schools to increase the mathematics achievement and social-emotional competence of children with disabilities. Our Company is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts. to support research, demonstrations, technology, and personnel development, and parent training and information centers.Requirements:Doctoral degree in EducationOR :Special Education from an accredited educational institution.Expertise in designing, delivering, and evaluating professional learning and coaching for educators in public schools.Track record in producing publications and other learning opportunities in the field of professional learning.Recognition as a national expert as demonstrated through publications and curriculum vitae.Experience in professional development for educators.X Specific Responsibilities:The qualified candidate will have demonstrated expertise in evidence-based Professional Learning and Coaching practices for educators, including the conduct of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and preservice teacher education. The candidate will be expected to provide training and consultation to local personnel who have advanced degrees in special education and provide pre-service and/or in-service professional learning to educators in Maryland .The purpose of the consultation is to develop an evidence-based approach for designing and delivering learning opportunities across university course work, State technical assistance/training, and local professional development to improve the delivery of specially designed math instruction by elementary educators.Consultation will be offered primarily through remote planning and training, as well as quarterly in-person opportunities to work with a stakeholder group. The consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables working approximately 96 hours: Work in collaboration with State staff, University faculty, and other local experts to:1. Design and conduct training on professional learning and coaching strategies to staff on all levels (State, University, local) on professional learning.2. Develop materials on professional learning in concert with MSDE personnel.3. Collaborate in the application of professional learning principles in the design of university courses in math and/or social emotional learning for special and general educators.4. Assist in the development of Maryland's approach to the design and selection of professional learning and coaching evidence-based practices.5. Participate in the in-person Stakeholder Advisory Group, and other teams, remotely, as needed.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Doctorate (Preferred)Work Location: One location
