Duties

  • Serves as Team Chief of the Combat Training Centers (CTC) Modernization Team, TRADOC Proponent Office ? Force on Force (TPO-FoF), and is the TRADOC proponent for Army Live training programs.
  • Develops Army policy and oversees requirements development, fielding, and integration for Live training systems, Opposing Forces (OPFOR) systems, and devices.
  • Evaluates and reports on the impact of current and projected projects on other Live and TSS programs/projects within the Army and with other Joint and DoD Service programs.
  • Manages, plans, coordinates, and directs daily activities of the CTC Modernization/Instrumentation Team comprised of military officers, professional civilian employees, and contractors.

  • SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • SUPERVISORY PROBATION - This position is supervisory as defined by the OPM General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • PERFORM TEMPORARY DUTY (TDY) - This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 35% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing written correspondence for organization in areas such as budgeting, planning, staffing and execution; 2) evaluating organization project development progress; 3) using capability developer processes such as Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System, acquisition policies, regulations strategy, and planning process; 4) policy and requirements development in support of Combat Training Center, Home Station and Deployed Live Training Instrumentation Systems; AND/OR 5) managing daily activities from personnel comprised of military officers, professional civilian employees, and contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
