Duties

  • You will analyze electronic equipment (e.g., direct current or alternating current circuits, synchros, servos, analog or digital circuits) for an organization
  • You will guide the formulation of assumptions and scenarios developed by a specialist to create complex simulation models (e.g., operational capabilities, networking, computing resources, and processes).
  • You will perform research to develop techniques, determine equipment, or verify procedures to calibrate advanced new measurement equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements for the GS-10:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector under a higher graded electronics technician: 1) Contributing to design, development and integration services of analog and digital circuitry for the purpose of electrical power control and computer technical support; 2) Providing implementation, component level troubleshooting, repair and maintenance services for hardware, software for digital systems, complex power control, test circuits, communications systems and equipment; and 3) Contributing to technical recommendations for electronics and computer engineering projects to resolve design issues.

Minimum Qualification Requirements for the GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector under a higher graded electronics technician: 1) Contributing to integration services for the purpose of electrical power control and computer technical support; 2) Providing implementation, component level troubleshooting, repair and maintenance services for hardware, software for digital systems, complex power control, test circuits, communications systems and equipment; and 3) Assembling prototype models according to the system design provided by higher graded electronics technicians; 4) Assisting customers in the proper use of supported systems and equipment.

Education

Applicants may substitute education for specialized experience to qualify for the GS-09 level:

GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education
OR
successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to the position being filled.
