The candidate will utilize advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision, in a fast -paced environment, he/she will monitor building system operations and performance. He/she will utilize several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling as well as all core engineering principles.ResponsibilitiesComply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safetyInspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieve environmental conditions prescribed by clientOversee and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, electrical, and cleaningPerform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenanceComplete maintenance and repair records as requiredReview assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete repairOrder necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasksMaintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimumMaintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacementsPerform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as neededRespond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as neededWill be on call every other weekProvide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkersQualificationsBS degree in Engineering or 4 years of on-the-job experience as a Building/Facility EngineerExperience in GMP, Engineering, Designing/Drawing requiredExperience in CAD requiredHands on working with tools requiredUniversal CFC certification highly preferredAdditional certification in one or more of the following preferred: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repairCertifications/licenses required by local or state jurisdictionsBasic knowledge of financial terms and principles required with ability to maintain detailed budgetAbility to write complex engineering and GMP compliance documented reports and correspondenceComfortable in solving complex engineering and equipment problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.Ability to make sound judgements and decision, errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers or serious injury death.Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work.
