Duties

As an Equal Employment Specialist (Senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist), you will:
  • Manage and ensure the effective and appropriate execution of BEP's Anti-Harassment Program (AHP)
  • Provide leadership, technical assistance and outreach to internal and external stakeholders in the following program areas: Affirmative Employment Program (AEP), Affirmative Action Program, (AAP), including Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Program and Personal Assistance Program (PAS), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Complaints Program, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Program and Anti-Harassment Program (AHP)
  • Develop and deliver training materials and programs for broad audiences, including external stakeholders and the BEP workforce pertaining to program areas under OEODM's purview
  • Organize regularly recurring meetings with internal and external audiences to address current and upcoming issues and to facilitate sharing of best practices

  • SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for disqualification in the hiring process. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. Therefore it is imperative that applicants exercise candor and honesty when answering background questionnaires, especially as it relates to arrest, employment, education, finances, illegal drug use, and/or other criminal history. Falsification discovered in security documents or during the background investigation process may result in an immediate negative suitability determination or immediate revocation of your interim clearance (if applicable).

    Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience for the GS-14: you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes work experience that demonstrates:
    • Developing and executing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Programs, AND
    • Identifying opportunities for collaboration on DEIA initiatives across agency lines or in partnership with other agencies, AND
    • Providing advice and guidance to management on incorporating DEIA program strategies into operational processes.

    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.

    OTHER INFORMATION:
    • We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies.
    • This is a non-bargaining unit position.
    • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.
    • Moving expenses pay be authorized.
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
    • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
    • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
    • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
    • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9 . Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
    • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
    • Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment.
    • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
    • As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee's duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law. If selected, you will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless you have a legally required exception. You MUST provide documentation of proof of vaccination before a start date is established. We will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request a legally required exception from this requirement, if requested.
    • Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.
