We do this by providing a quality person-centered approach to behavioral health services. We are seeking a Therapeutic Behavioral Support Counselor to join our team! You will provide individual or group treatment for youth ages 4 to 21 using individualized defined treatment plans, collect data on target behaviors, and meet with supervisors. Job Requirements:Responsibilities: Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues Offer assistance to individuals with substance abuse issues Provide prevention-oriented therapy implement treatment programs as instructed by the supervisor. Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner. Focus on changing the child's behavior by observing them in real-life environments. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of behavior management experience working with youth with autism, emotionally disturbed youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities. High School diploma required, AA in psychology, social work, or therapeutic recreation or a related field preferred. Ability to work with both intensive high-level clients and low-level clients. Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Promote good communication, customer service, and positive representation of the organization. Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members, and a desire to work with children, youth, and young adults. Effectively use BSF behavior guidance techniques to help clients and families decrease maladaptive behaviors. This position may require working a non-conventional workweek to accommodate the needs of the clients. It also requires standing, sitting, walking, running, and lifting. Ensure client routines and schedules are carried out promptly and consistently. Staff must have exposure to clients with behavioral health needs.
