General SummaryDirect financial activities and analyze financial information to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, manage, maintain, and analyze budgets. Prepare reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses. Direct work activities of Sr. Accountants. Provide direction and assistance to other departments regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources. Monitor cash flow and reserve levels. Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make recommendations. Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities. Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, and financial instruments. Prepare and file annual tax returns. Involved in pricing of benefits, including monitoring regulations and creating budgets for benefits and workers compensation. Perform tax planning work. Utilize accounting software. Conducts and participates in financial audits or regulatory audits.
