Role and Responsibilities: Client is seeking a dynamic Senior Systems Engineer in Lexington Park Maryland to assist the US Navy in the design, implementation, and management of complex weapons systems requirements. The Systems Engineer will assist in the design solutions and key performance indicators necessary to implement the Navy's future war fighting capabilities. They will review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and make recommendations to the government customer. They will evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. May provide technical consultation to other organizations and provide leadership for lower level employees. Reviews and prioritizes customer requirements and analyzing project costs and feasibility; develop systems analysis and methodologies consistent with technical requirements and review recommendations for systems improvement. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Mathematics, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution is required. Minimum eight years of engineering experience in the analysis, design, development, integration, operation, testing and evaluation of aircraft or weapons systems is required, four of those years occurring in the last eight years. Knowledge of DoD system engineering requirements, design interface requirements and specification development required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A current Secret Clearance with a Background Investigation completed within the last 6 years is required. Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer-based productivity applications. Travel as needed to support customer objectives and requirements (<25%). Preferred Skills: Master's degree in engineering discipline, or a related field. Knowledge and understanding of tactical data links, weapon system tracking and resource management. Requirement verification through testing and analysis. Preparation of technical papers documenting findings and recommendations. Experience with Agile software development processes, procedures, and management tools. Analysis of alternatives for S&T projects. Familiar with DoD Instruction 5000.2 (Operation of the Defense Acquisition System) and ACAT programs. Background in conducting investigations and tests of considerable complexity, ability to develop test scenarios desired.
