PRS Guitars is looking for an Industrial Engineering Manager to join our team in Stevensville, Maryland, USA. Reports to: Director of Manufacturing Summary of the Industrial Engineering Manager: Drives major Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing project plans and distributes projects to Project Engineers and other department staff. Manages multiple tasks and timelines. Responsible for final drafts of project planning and assures plans are accurate to deadline dates. Reports to Director of Manufacturing on status, ideas, changes, etc. Works hand in hand with Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Production Managers, Purchasing Department, Maintenance Department, and others to assure the smooth projection implementations. Job Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineering Manager: Evaluate current manufacturing processes, continually identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements. Improve the efficiency of each production process Work with quality control to design methods to ensure quality and to reduce waste. Evaluate employee responsibilities to identify procedures or tools to improve productivity. Participate in and/or lead process improvement teams and other small project technical Teams. Support the development of formal manufacturing technicians and operators training courses and may be required to perform OJT training of team members and other engineers. Build a high caliber industrial engineering / process improvement team capable of driving change and improving throughput, quality and efficiencies. Support and lead projects through the entire life cycle from design to prototype through production Ability to provide material flow drawings, handling methods and layouts of equipment/workspace using Auto CAD or Solidworks. Evaluate effects of product design changes. Use creativity and ingenuity to design new production processes in many kinds of settings to reduce the use of material resources, time or labor while accomplishing the same goal. Experience Requirements and Competencies for the Industrial Engineering Manager 5+ years working in manufacturing Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 2-5 Years of management experience Guitar players/aficionados and general working guitar, amplifier, and/or other musical instrument knowledge beneficial Formal Six Sigma training and/or Lean manufacturing strongly preferred Strong communication skills are a must. Must be able to explain instructions to manufacturing before they can make written instruction available. Being able to explain concepts clearly and quickly is crucial to preventing costly mistakes and loss of time. Strong writing skills are a must to create documentation for other professionals or for future reference. The documentation must be coherent and be able to explain their thinking clearly so that others can understand the information Strong planning and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fat-paced, dynamic working environment. Ability to manage and advance multiple projects and meet deadline Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point) and Auto CAD. Solidworks knowledge a plus Exceptional interpersonal skills - Must be able to work with all levels of staff to serve as a bridge between the technical and business sides of an organization.
