DESCRIPTION:To be a successful candidate you will need to be a highly motivated, change oriented strategic thinker with a high EQ and the ability to contribute at both a strategic and operational level. (S)he will bring outstanding communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills and demonstrated experience leading the operational side of HR. The VP of HR will need to bring strategic insight around people needs within a multi-divisional healthcare organization along with a track record of building credibility and effective relationships across all levels of the organization. (S)he will be responsible for partnering with Business Leaders regarding all matters related to human capital. The VP of HR will also provide guidance on human resources processes, will develop internal reporting, and will work with key leaders on aligning overall human capital strategy and long- term goals. Strong business acumen understanding will be essential to be a driver on strategic solutions for teammates while aligning them with the organization's culture, strategies, and vision.This position will be located at the corporate headquarters in McLean, VA.RESPONSIBILITIES:Outstanding leadership and communication skills and empathy for teammates at all levels along with significant influence/negotiation skills.Track record as an innovative thought leader; providing creative ideas and solutions. Experience leading HR transformation efforts a plus.Able to think strategically beyond tactical execution.Strong analytical problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mindsetSkilled at partnering with business clients at all levels and in balancing the role as a liaison between human resources and key stakeholdersHighly developed project management skillsHigh degree of work ethic, integrity, and loyalty expectedAssist the leadership with developing and driving the execution of the HR Operations strategy, integrating best practices/trends and performing analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing human capital processes and programs.Design management tools and models in concert with the operational leaders to ensure alignment with required workforce planning.Design effective teammate engagement strategies with a focus on retention of high performers, high potentials, and key contributors.Must have working knowledge of standard employment law and EEO requirements and well-versed in handling OFCCP and other regulatory audits.Possess a strong understanding of performance management, change management, organizational development, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and compensation planning.Provide support to senior management and must have keen analytical abilities as well as outstanding systems skills, including HRIS, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.Strong interpersonal skills, confident with ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced work environment.Must be a trusted advisor, coach, and mentor to the operational leaders.Build the capabilities of and mentor direct reports to effectively align people and culture with the company's strategic priorities.Up to 20% travelWork Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. Seeing, smelling, repetitive motion and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time are required for this position.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree, preference for concentration in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of five (5) years related experience in a senior leadership role in Human Resources Excellent development and execution of strategies, process improvement, culture and system change, meeting facilitation and design, and communications.Ability to innovate and challenge current norms to drive change in the organization and work with people at various organizational levels.Reputation for being a process-driver and thought leader, leveraging efficiencies in the use of technologies, workflows, and processes.A demonstrated ability to multitask, probe, analyze and problem-solve issues with minimal guidance.Highly flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on key goals.Preferred Education and Experience:A Master's degree in Business or Human ResourcesSHRM certification or similar HR certificationHealthcare industry experienceOTHER DUTIES:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
