The Lead Engineer has a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases. The Lead Engineer possesses the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. The Lead Engineer may work independently or at the direction of the Project Manager.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for directing and managing the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectation and project goalsCoordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others.Work with a Project Manager to proposal development, man-hour planning, project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on advanced level projects.Identify and resolve advanced non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveysAttend external seminars/conferences for professional development preferredDevelop advanced internal mechanical design and engineering training presentationsDevelop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects without oversightLead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reportsConduct technical and leadership interviewsConduct quality checking of documents for advanced complex projects, eg, technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project qualityProvide mentorship to Mechanical Discipline Engineer I, II, and III and/or Designer I, II, an IIILead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior EngineerLead a team of mechanical staff in the execution of advanced projects discipline design and engineeringQualificationsMinimum QualificationsABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (alternatively, a Bachelor's in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option)Minimum of 15 years of experience required for Senior Lead position, preferably in a design firm settingMinimum of 20 years of experience for Senior or SME position, preferably in a design firm settingProfessional Registration (Licensure)Additional QualificationsProficiency AutoCAD and Revit preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office requiredProficiency in discipline specific software requiredLEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional preferredAdvanced knowledge of cGMPs and/or experience with advanced technology industry projects such as R&D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food & nutrition and/or consumer products is requiredExpert experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems designsExpert experience with the mechanical/plumbing/fire code, generically statedAdvanced experience with other applicable industry standardsAdvanced experience with applicable building codes requiredAdvanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reportingProficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination requiredProficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturersProficient at advanced HVAC, mechanical utility, (plumbing/drainage fixture, fire protection) systems design calculations without supervisionAdvanced experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical and systems desiredAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.CRB is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
