Position Description The Software Engineer UI Designer and developer provides Web design and front end development support for the Portal team on the EPC contract. The successful candidate will also support best practices User Experience (UX) analysis and User Interface (UI) design for various Enterprise Portal system releases and will support design and development of a responsive website and mobile-ready Web 2.0 User Interfaces. Role and Responsibilities Responsible for a full lifecycle of Responsive design: content-first design, information architecture, wireframes, Photoshop components and in-browser prototypes, to provide end-to-end dynamic, database driven design flows Constructs pages in HTML and CSS (with SASS), with coding around templating languages or within CMS systems Complies with standards-compliant front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Works closely with members of the development and QA teams to ensure the front-end code can be effectively integrated with the technical solution in an Agile Software Development environment Provides best practices of human factors and ergonomics, particularly in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment Works with the team to analyze available Enterprise Portal usage metrics for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX optimization Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field At least 1 year of experience User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design for dynamic, database driven web sites and Content Management Systems (CMS) At least 1 year of experience in web design and front end development using HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java Scripts, and jQuery Working experience with Web 2.0 UI design and development using Backbone.js, Angular.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, XSL, Bootstrap, LESS, and SASS. Some demonstrated experience in incorporating reliable unit and end-to-end testing to UI frameworks such as Jasmine, Minification, and Karma Some demonstrated experience troubleshooting and possess debugging skills with UI related issues. Desired Education and Experience Experience in the Healthcare industry or CMS Experience with tools like Eclipse, Jenkins, GIT, JIRA Experienced with integrating with REST APIs and developing Single Page Applications. Working knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices, 508 compliance and accessibility.
