Senior Software Engineer ** The position can be remote anywhere on the East Coast.Join us as a Senior Software Engineer on our Security Engineering Development team in our mid-range storage division The next generation mid-range storage product is one of the fastest-growing storage and data management products in the storage market. Its security engineering group is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Software Engineer with solid programming skill (preferably Java) and computer security background to enhance our next generation products with application security features. Contribute to the design and architecture of new or re-engineered software/storage environments. Prepare written software/storage specifications for sophisticated products from architectural diagrams and documents. Build and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed. Develop, review and implement test strategies for software products and systemsEssential RequirementsDesign and develop features including but not limited to identity & access management and application security for the storage product.Strong Java development background, with good understanding of network protocols, REST API and CI/CD methodologiesCollaborate cross functionally with other engineering groups on security infrastructure design and changesResearch new technologies, prototype solutions and ensure the product remains current with the state of the practice for securityInfluence future product/program direction in the app security area for data center and cloud storage environmentsDevelop functional and design specifications to support product requirements,Develop component and system level test plans to validate security functionalityDesirable Requirements5+ years of hands-on SW development experienceExperience with programming languages such as C/C++/Java/Python/JavaScript/Perl.Experience with APIs: REST, SOAP and other integrations.Strong diagnostic and problem resolution skillsKnowledge of cryptographic concepts, information and network security a plusKnowledge of Linux system, microservices, container, and other virtualization technology a plusStrong initiative and ability to work independently with limited direction.Familiarity with security standards and complianceExtensive experience in developing multi-threaded softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBS / MS, or equivalent experience requiredHere's our story; now tell us yoursDell Technologies helps organizations and individuals build a brighter digital tomorrow.
