We are engaging, fun and inclusive.Our work environment includes:Casual work attireFood providedSafe work environmentWe are looking for an experienced Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of dishes in the kitchen. You'll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients. A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You must be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.ResponsibilitiesFollow the prep list created by chefs to plan dutiesLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessibleMeasure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cookingPrepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.Ensure all food and other items are stored properlyComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelinesPerform other kitchen duties as assignedSkills*Proven experience as a prep cookKnowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen (Servsafe certificate is a plus)Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensilsA team player with good communication skillsPatient with an ability to stay positive under pressureVery good physical condition and enduranceHigh school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an assetJob Types: Part-time, Contract, TemporaryPay: $15.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftNight shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:Masks must be worn at all times in our kitchen facilityShift availability:Night Shift (Preferred)Overnight Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
