This role will support the HR Generalist and VP by completing tactical HR duties such as collecting new hire information, scanning hard copy files, and importing files into the correct system. This is a great opportunity for new career individual to learn how an HR department works while gaining valuable real-life experience. This is a part-time paid internship. The overall objective of the HR Intern is to assist the Human Resource Team in handling tactical HR tasks, maintaining records and personnel files, preparing for onboarding, and assisting in our go-paperless project. This ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and efficient work habits. In return, the HR Intern will receive hands-on exposure to the inner workings of a small human resources department within a mid-sized company.This is not a remote position, and applicants must be able to report in person to our corporate offices located to be considered.ResponsibilitiesAssists Human Resources Generalist with most functions of human resources including, but not limited to, benefits administration, tracking performance evaluations, records retention, on/offboarding, data retrieval/entry and document storageTaking direction for the HR Generalist assist with new hire onboarding activitiesAssist with paperless project by scanning hard copy files and importing the document into the correct HR storage location or HRISAssist with annual audit process by performing first level review of documents, pulling information and tracking audit requestsCompile data in excel and report on information as neededHire, develop and retain quality team members Forecast and prioritize workflow to meet department deadlines. Conduct regular department meetings and one-to-one meetings to communicate department objectives and address employee questions and concerns.Create an environment within the team that inspires high performance and hold all team members accountable to performance objectives and behavior standards, to include documented periodic reviews of performance.Work with team members to set their performance objectives which are in alignment with corporate objectives.Ensure the team members have the training and tools to effectively perform their responsibilities.Align team members with the organization's mission and long-term success.Aids in the review, research and development of the Employee Policy Manual.Reviews and proofs job descriptions as assigned.Assists with the maintenance of permanent and electronic personnel records.Assists in off-boarding efforts through exit interviews and record updates. j.Attends semi-monthly HR team employee meetings and other meetings that may be required from time to time.Assist with activities related to annual internal audit.Works with VP of HR to update compliance tracking.May be assigned to employee morale support tasksRequirementsMust be currently enrolled in college at the junior or senior level, seeking an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
