JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Clinical Waiting Room Liaison provides assistance to all patients, families, and visitors who enter the Emergency Department. Serves as a liaison between patients/families, nursing, medical staff, and the healthcare organization to foster a patient centered environment to optimize customer service and patient satisfaction. Interfaces with patients, and key personnel in clinical and support departments regarding service issues. Education High School Diploma or equivalent, required Experience 3-5 years' experience in patient care/patient service with focus on involvement in difficult situations Knowledge of Emergency Department (ED) process preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Position relies heavily on self-motivation, creativity, critical thinking, quick responses, flexibility, organization and customer service skills. Must have the capability to function in a fast paced and dynamic environment under stressful/critical situations Excellent Customer Service Skills Advanced interpersonal skills Active listening skills Ability to prioritize effectively Ability to provide compassionate patient care Licensures, Certifications Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification, Basic Life Support certification (BLS) Physical Requirements Ability to walk and stand majority of time - stamina Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job functions.
