We are actively developing a growing portfolio of over 12.7 GWDC solar PV and 3.7GWAC of co-located / stand-alone energy storage, throughout 12 states in support of America's transition to clean, sustainable power.JOB SUMMARY: Urban Grid is looking for an experienced Interconnection Engineer to contribute to the company's expanding utility scale solar project portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of new interconnection applications, guiding existing queued projects successfully through the interconnection process, and serving as the interconnection subject matter expert on assigned projects. Preferred candidates will have experience working with the PJM or MISO interconnection processes.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the development of interconnection applications for assigned market or region including preparing and reviewing application documentation, creating one-line diagrams, and identifying project constraintsManage the interconnection study process for all assigned projects ensuring applications and agreements are submitted without errorDevelop interconnection strategy for assigned projects and ensure projects are aligned with company goalsAnalyze interconnection study reports and summarize findings and next steps with managementLead site visits with the project management team to identify project risksRequirementsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The candidate must possess the ability to translate complex engineering analysis into executive summariesMinimum of 3 years of experience in the electric utility industry, preferably with an electric utility companyCandidate must be able to visually recognize transmission, distribution, and substation equipment in the fieldCandidate must be capable of reading and preparing preliminary substation one-line diagramsCandidate must be familiar with the basics of substation and system protection designFamiliarity with the FERC OATT and regional interconnection processes is preferredLocation: Remote working is acceptable for this role.
