All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age (40 or older), disability, genetic information, citizenship or immigration status, and veteran status or any other factor prohibited by applicable law Responsibilities: Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirementsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresDebug existing software and correct defectsIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsWrite or review software and system documentationDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areasModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designDesign or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team productsConfer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfacesCoordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are metImplement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsSelect the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering Qualifications: Twenty (20) years software engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required; Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for bachelors degree.Basic Qualifications:Proficient in C and C++Windows or Linux development experienceStrong Oral and Written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationshipsDesired Skills: (some but not all)C/C++ development experienceReverse engineeringSoftware Defined Radio / Mobile communications development experienceExperience with modern UI frameworks including Angular.js, React.js, Vue.js.GNU toolchain experienceEmbedded systems experience (usage of JTAG Debuggers, JTAG Programmers, Serial Ports, ESD equipment)System administration experience (helps with design, development) Clearance Level: TS/SCI polygraph Job Locations: US-MD-Annapolis Junction Skills: C/C++, Reverse Engineering, SDR, embedded
