They've partnered with an esteemed organization in the Accounting industry to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The organization offering this multi-faceted short-term contract / temporary opportunity is based in the Bethesda, Maryland region, and provides a terrific work environment where effort is rewarded.Responsibilities- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management- Partake in annual closing processes- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Participate in various department-wide initiatives- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases- Current and relevant ERP system experience- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases- Deep understanding of account reconciliation- Command of Consumer Loans- Approved Loans experience desired- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement- Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skillsRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
