Lead the successful operation of multiple Hardlines categories (including action figures, construction, novelties, toyetic collectibles, games, puzzles, outdoor and seasonal toys, and Consumer Electronics) with an assigned internal design team and across multiple vendors by managing quality of assigned product categories through story, color, materials, form and function of products. Work with all partners to ensure the highest quality, consumer-focused, trend-right product lines across all channels of distribution (licensing, flex business models, vertical and wholesale) that build brand equity and meet financial targets. You will report to the Director of Product Design.Responsibilities :Manage an internal team to concept, design, sketch, prototype (including managing art-to-product, 3D modeling, sample creation, and electronic breadboards, where applicable) and achieve trend-right consumer centric product lines that feature market-leading innovation and great price/value for each tier of the value pyramidManage product and licensed packaging approvals through online systems and collaborative approval meetings, ensuring standards in character execution, in-depth storytelling, color, material, form and function while maximizing profitabilityManage multiple vendors to develop product concepts against strategic design vision for the product or assortment mix to provide trend-right consumer centric product lines and complete product and packaging approvals.Coach design talent through feedback on performance and provide regular developmentWork with internal partners (Creative Design, Licensing Commercialization, and Tech Design, BERGs, CBM, Legal, Business Affairs, Product Integrity, Integrated Retail, BPM, Public Affairs, D&I teams, Cultural Consultants) and external partners (Studios & Disney Channel Content Providers, Games, Publishing, WDI, Licensees, DTR Partners) to design and approve all productsWork with the greater product design and creative teams to promote up-front trends, overall creative direction and identify future areas of growth within the franchise and across product categories, including the preparation of custom design tools and retail pitches to differentiate by categoryWork with Global Product Design teamsPrepare creative/product retail custom design tools and pitches to differentiate by categoryMonitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamicsOnboard new Licensees, DTR, halo partners globally and locallyManage operating budget for categoryPrioritize multiple design projects, running simultaneously with varying levels of complexityAct as a bridge between execution and strategy; to translate strategy into actionBasic Qualifications :Bachelor's Degree in related field (eg industrial design, toy design) or equivalent work experience8+ years of relevant experienceKnowledge in Hardlines categories (raw materials, plastic, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)Experience managing up to senior leaders and across with peers and partnersExperience leading multiple product lines, of different categories, each with a unique pathExperience influencing essential partners and stakeholdersProduct design skills (eg 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, and final mechanical art)Experience using design software: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)Required Education :Bachelor's Degree in related field (eg industrial design, toy design) or equivalent work experienceAdditional Information :Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
