Overall Responsibilities: Provides general corporate, commercial contract, compliance and litigation legal services to a group of biopharmaceutical companies. Closely counsels executive leadership and senior management on manufacturing, supply chain, quality, commercialization, domestic distribution, international distribution, research and development, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions and civil litigation. Strategically and analytically advises on and handles contract drafting, review and negotiation of various agreements, including non-disclosure, consulting, service, supply, research, development, clinical trial, manufacturing, quality, material transfer, sales and marketing, distribution, federal supply schedule, engagement letters, business acquisitions and ventures, licensing, partnership, real estate, and labor and employment. Reviews legal data, assists with determining and taking appropriate legal action, and executes matters with sound legal and business judgment. Efficiently and effectively manages and works with outside counsel. Manages Legal team to provide diligent and results-driven legal representation.Job Functions: Demonstrates competency and legal experience in general corporate, commercial contract, compliance and litigation matters, including corporate organization; drafting and negotiating transactional documents, license agreements, and risk management asset-backed financing; contract management; and employment law.Assists with the management of legal business matters pertaining to the organization and its affiliates.Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to in-house clients.Assists with legal issues involving the organization's government and regulatory compliance.Advises on and oversees the execution and maintenance of state licensures.Maintains, manages and updates legal agreement templates.Reviews legal data and assists with appropriate legal action to be taken, which may include litigation.Assists with the coordination of legal matters handled by outside counsel.Incorporates solid project management skills in executing tasks while managing competing priorities.Exercises problem-solving and a solution-driven approach to legal practices.Skills/Experience Requirements: 10-15 years of broad-based general corporate experience in either private law firm practice and/or in-house corporate legal environmentExcellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.Detail oriented and a critical thinker.Ability to work at both detailed and strategic levels.Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.Proven success in managing, organizing, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and working calmly under pressure.Self-starter who thinks creatively and proactively helps to make well-informed decisions and exercises balanced judgment.Capable of working both independently and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.Experience with the pharmaceutical/life sciences/biotechnology industries is highly desired.Government contracting and/or FDA regulatory experience is a plus.Must be able to work onsite: Monday-FridayEducational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree.Juris doctorate from an accredited law school with proven academic success.License to practice law and in good standing under the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel in Maryland.Job Type: Full-timePay: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):Are you able to work onsite Monday-Friday?Experience:Pharmaceutical/Biotech: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
