Our client is an Ashburn, VA-based $70M rapidly growing Government Contractor coming off its best year! The company is currently looking for an Accounting Manager who can be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team and responsible for leading high-visibility process improvement initiatives, business operations analytics, and supporting accounting daily activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting experience, Deltek Costpoint software experience, and great communication. The company is operating in a remote environment currently and will be very flexible/hybrid in the future. Salary target is $110,000-$135,000 base compensation plus 2 bonuses and the company is adhering to CDC vaccination rules. Position overview:As the Manager of Accounting Operations, you will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team and will be responsible for leading high-visibility process improvement initiatives, business operations analytics, and supporting accounting daily activities. You will need to develop and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with members of the Finance and Accounting organization (F&A), Operations, and Functional Area Departments. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert with proven expertise across a variety of business operations functions such as project control, financial reporting & analysis, and accounting. Currently our team is working from home. We look forward to returning to our offices later this year. What you will do:. Provide leadership and support to cross-functional, transformational initiatives across Business Process Integration.. Team with internal partners to support Costpoint (CP) system optimization, Internal Process Improvement, and other special projects. Lead and support tactical accounting-focused process improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain financial reporting dashboard for accounting operations. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce periodic financial reports or statements. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles. Work with external accountant to support annual financial audit and tax returns. Create accounting operations training collateral and lead related training sessions. Other duties as assignedWhat you will need:. Bachelor's degree from accredited university. 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance with increasing responsibility. 5+ years of Federal contracting experience in an accounting/finance function. CPA preferred but not required. Working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and ICE. Experience w/ Costpoint 7+ years and Cognos 10+ years. Proven experience in leading projects within the accounting function. Ability to successfully work both independently and collaboratively across functions. Proven experience in developing financial models, reporting, analysis, and forecasting. Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end processes. Demonstrated success in project control is a plus. Solid Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, charts, macros, etc.)Professional Skills:. Adept at leading initiatives with a focus on troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail. High self-motivation and drive to take initiative and excellent written and oral communication
