The Harford Center is a small non-profit DDA organization.The Harford Center, Inc. is seeking an innovative and compassionate leader for its Human Resource Director. The HR Director serves an integral role in fostering an environment where staff are valued.The Harford Center's mission is to promote dignity, safety, stability, choice, and community integration for individuals with disabilitiesHarford Center values diversity and an organizational cultural that is staff-positive and enhances the lives of its clients and continually develops the strengths and talents of its staff.Job Summary: The Human Resource Director reports directly to the Executive Director, and will perform all standard Human Resource (HR) tasks, including but not limited to oversight of the organization's positive/supportive staffing culture, compliance, training, recruitment/onboarding of new staff, provision of expert consultation on staffing-related policies, and administration of HR functions related to benefits, compensation, etc.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationHRCI, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certifications highly desired.CompetenciesProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems efficiently; gathers and analyzes information; develops solutions.Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively; listens and gets clarification when necessary; responds informatively to questions.Written Communication - Writes clearly and concisely; edits work; varies writing style to meet specific needs; presents data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives.Professionalism - Approaches others in a polite and tactful manner; maintains composure and reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with occasional change, delays, or unexpected events..
