Direct Support Professional (DSP) Supervisor
Job DescriptionBello Machre is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Supervisor for our Residential Program in Anne Arundel County. The DSP Supervisor is an essential staff and provides loving care for adults with developmental disabilities who live in one of our many homes throughout Anne Arundel County. In addition to providing support and loving care, our employees help the people we serve to learn independent living skills, plan activities in the home and community, and implement individual program plans.The Direct Support Professional Supervisor is a full-time position that requires a flexible schedule, as the shifts and positions will vary based on the needs of the program. This person must be able to work as both a Direct Support Professional and a Supervisor. Schedules are provided a month in advance.QualificationsMust be at least 18 years oldA high school diploma or GED requiredMust have a current driver's license with no more than 5 pointsMust complete required training within 60 days of being hiredMust display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilitiesMust demonstrate the ability to resolve problems and conflict effectivelyMust be able to deal with confidential information appropriatelyMust be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, individuals, and familiesMust be able to maintain a consistent work schedule, be dependable and secure coverage when absentMust display a positive attitude when interacting with othersMust be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual's strengths and capabilitiesResponsibilitiesProvides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community lifeMay provide direct supervision to Direct Support Professionals, including assisting with hiring, training, and professional development.Provide a home that is well-maintained and organized, and ensure it reflects the interests and personal tastes of the people living thereAssist in maintaining a family-style household, which includes cooking balanced meals according to their needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanlinessAttend to the individual needs of each person, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, or other needs in keeping with their care requirements.Reports medical concerns, conditions, and changes in health status in a timely fashionMaintains accurate documentation including Medical Administration Records and administers medication and physician ordersAttends mandatory training and meetings, including supervisory meetings and house meetingsEnsures a safe environment where individuals are free from abuse and neglectCompany DescriptionBello Machre - We provide a lifetime commitment of loving care, opportunity, and guidance to people with developmental disabilities in Maryland.
