This position connects our referral sources, our patients and our therapists. Excellent communication skills and professionalism will be key for this role. The Patient Care Coordinator reports directly to the Office Manager. Presents a positive, welcoming and kind attitude that is focused on our well-established relationships, community reputation and high quality results:Serves as our friendly, compassionate and enthusiastic contact for patients at all timesAnswers phones, takes and relays messages in a professional and timely mannerSchedules patients for services to assure their treatment goals are met; including rescheduling missed appointments and reminder calls as necessaryMeets with patients on the first visit to assure all necessary paperwork is completed and processed before treatment with the Physical TherapistCompletes patient check in and check outCollects patients' payments for each office visit, according to office policyCommunicates clearly all policies for insurance, co-payments, scheduling appointments and cancellationsManages patient paperwork and electronic record keepingManages calls to schedule newly referred patientsManages the Physical Therapists' wait-listStocks supplies for the office and clinicProcesses USPS mailMaintains clean office and clinicPerforms other office support work for staff, as neededAssures compliance with Medicare and commercial insurance guidelines and policiesAssists with paperwork for obtaining authorizationsPractices HIPAA guidelinesAssist with preparation under Physical Therapists' supervision for hot/cold packs, e-stim and lymphedema pumpMaintains laundryCovers shifts for other Front Office staff as neededAdministrative/Office Functions and Potential for Growth - 15% of PositionTakes ownership of role as a vital team memberAssists with supervisory tasks as assigned by Office ManagerWorks with office and/or billing manager to manage patient accounts and payment issuesCalls insurance companies before each patient's first visit to verify their insurance coverage.Communicates with patients to explain what will or will not be coveredPreparing Bank depositsQualifications and SkillsYou must demonstrate that you are Committed, Responsible, Organized, Able to Multi-Task, Detail Oriented, Very Personable, have Excellent Customer Service Skills, be Service Oriented, and CompassionateHigh School Diploma or GED required; Medical Office Assistant, Associates Degree or college level business courses preferredTwo previous years of experience in a Physical Therapy or other medical officeBasic computer skills including Windows, Word, Excel and electronic scheduling along with basic Financial Skills.Experience working with EMR a plusDemonstrates continued interest in self-development and the development of the staff and clinicIn order to be considered for this job, you MUST submit application and resume through Indeed, AND send a separate email with resume and cover letter attached to Physical Therapy Partners (see website for email address).
