Controller - Bethesda MDAs Controller you will lead all day-to-day activities and supervise team members including functional responsibilities over accounting, financial reporting, and payroll. You will work closely with the leadership team and the CFO in proposal pricing, financial presentations, strategy, and compliance.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all accounting functions, monthly entries, payroll review and processing, recording of all transactions, posting, monthly closing and balancing of accounts and maintenance of the General and subsidiary ledgers in a Unanet accounting system.Ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Contracting vehicle Compliance (GSA, etc.), Federal Acquisition (FAR) regulations and other regulatory requirements - especially those governing federal procurement.Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules and analyses, and prepare or review invoices to clients.Report results of operations as part of a comprehensive reporting package to senior management. Identify and report on trends, risks, issues, and other items necessary to provide a complete assessment of the company's financial position.Track cash flow, A/R and A/P, monitor debt levels and compliance with bank debt covenants.Calculate and track indirect cost rates in compliance with federal cost accounting standards.Work with Finance and Operations colleagues to develop the Annual Operating Budget.Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax fillings and coordinate with External Auditors and Tax Preparers on the same.Must demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and commitment to achieving results.Works under the direct supervision of the CFO.Qualifications. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field required; Master's degree in business or related, a plus. Certified Public Accountant a plus. Previous experience as a Controller required. Three or more years of supervisory experience. Five or more years of experience with Federal government accounting experience preferred. Public Accounting Firm experience a plus. Mergers and Acquisitions experience a plus. Excellent leadership and human relations skills. Skilled in financial and accounting, budget and resource development, and strategic planning. Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission. Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems. Advanced ability to manipulate and present data using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Comprehensive experience with MS Office including Visio. Strong ability to organize, coordinate, and direct projects. Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team. United States Citizenship.
