Job DescriptionImagine Schools Foundations at Morningside is seeking a Math Interventionist (K-8). Imagine Foundations at Morningside is a K-8 charter school seeking a Math support teacher with strong teaching abilities, an understanding of pedagogy and instructional practices in K-8 education, and an enthusiasm for connecting learning to real life application. The Imagine Morningside classroom teacher reports to the school leadership and works closely with his/her grade level team. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with grade level and vertical teams.Job Summary The Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of Mathematics with special attention to Tier II and III instruction. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.Planning and PreparationProvides high quality mathematics instruction to individual students and small groupsUses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-levelCollaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of studentsUses identified research-based interventions focuses specifically on individual student needsMaintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progressProvides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progressCommunicates with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progressAssists with identifying students for placement in intervention groupsParticipates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progressProvides diagnostic assessments for students as neededProvides input for program developmentSupports implementation of assessment tools and data management systemsProfessional ResponsibilitiesStudent data analysis and portfolio maintenanceEffective parent and community communicationContinuous professional development to keep up-to-date on curriculum developments and trends in the field of educationCommitment to professional growth through participation in professional learning communities and development opportunitiesParticipation in shared school-wide decision makingInvolvement in alignment committees and task-forcesJob RequirementsBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityEligible for Maryland State Board of Education professional certificate appropriate to area of assignmentKnowledge of school organization, goals, and objectives with special emphasis on teaching techniquesAbility to speak and write effectivelyExtensive knowledge of the Maryland State StandardsAbility to work in a highly collaborative environmentAbility to think, work and teach interdisciplinary contentAbility to work in an environment which emphasizes a Joy at Work management philosophy under which all Imagine School operateExceptional candidates will:Have at least five years of teaching experienceDemonstrate a passion for the education profession and supporting student achievementPossess a track record of collaboration, and evidence of effective teaching experienceJob Type: Full-timeThis is a PGCEA- Table A, 10 Month PositionExperience:teaching: 5 yearsJob Type: Full-timePay: $48,498.00 - $108,538.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayLanguage:English (Preferred)License/Certification:Teaching Certification (Preferred)Work Location: One location
