Role DescriptionPositionSalesforce AdministratorInformation Technology departmentReports to: Director, Database OperationsFull-Time, Exempt PositionPrimary PurposeBiotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) is the world's largest advocacy association representing member companies, state biotechnology groups, academic and research institutions, and related organizations across the United States and in 30+ countries. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, industrial, and environmental biotechnology products. BIO also produces the BIO International Convention, the world's largest gathering of the biotechnology industry, along with industry-leading investor and partnering meetings held around the world.The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for development and configuration of Salesforce and other AMS/CRM applications and integrations.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop, maintain, and improve customized solutions/applications within the Salesforce platformIdentify areas within the Salesforce application and/or code that could be improved or bulkifiedTest the stability, functionality, and performance of various applications within the Salesforce ecosystemTroubleshoot and fix bugs/Apex code, as neededCreate technical documentation and training for internal IT Salesforce staffMaintaining the security and integrity of the application softwareProvide various Salesforce reports and Dashboards for the BIO staff, including reporting applications with a focus on Einstein/Tableau and Demand Tools applicationsSupport various Marketing & Transactional Email projects via Conga and/or MarketoManage external Salesforce vendors on special projects and tasksAdminister Salesforce backup solution (Own Backup), including full data/meta-data recovery, GDPR requests, Sandbox seeding templates, etc.Work with internal customers to gather requirements and implement configuration changes including definition of workflow and approval processes and custom object implementation.Keep abreast of Salesforce releases, updates, features, and best practices. Make recommendations to management regarding implementation/deployment as appropriate.Support the various members of the IT/Database team with API integrations with various third-party external systems.Create and update all documentation related to Salesforce or any integrated applicationsManage and develop Salesforce Training in coordination with other IT staffOther duties as assignedRequired BACKGROUND and SKILLSPrevious work experience with application and software development in a SFDC environmentKnowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms, including Einstein/Tableau & Own BackupFonteva or other SFDC AMS products experience a plusMarketo Experience a plusExperience with Conga Composer App (and Conga E-sign) & Validity Suite (Demand Tools, People Import, etc) - a plusFamiliarity with various project management tools - Confluence/Jira/Trello, Basecamp, Asana, Monday, etcAbility to multi-taskExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft OfficeRequired EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECollege degree or equivalent years of experience, advanced degree a plus.3+ years of related work experience.Formal training in administering a SFDC environmentSalesforce Certifications (admin cert required / developer cert a plus)Candidates should be aware that BIO currently maintains a policy requiring all US-based employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and receive a booster shot once eligible.
