MedStar Health has immediate opportunities for Planning Analysts to join our Corporate Office based out of Columbia, MD. These are hybrid positions offering a combination of remote and on-site work.Job SummaryConducts analysis to support the strategy and business planning function.Minimum QualificationsEducation/TrainingBachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business, or Finance required. Master's degree preferred.Experience2 years market/environmental and quantitative analytic experience required. Healthcare strategic and business planning experience preferred.License/Certification/RegistrationNo special certification, registration or licensure is required.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExperience with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. (eg, Pivot Tables, Macros). Excellent verbal and written communication skills and Advanced data interpretation required. Experience using SQL, Tableau, mapping and business intelligence tools preferred. Highly motivated, self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity and attention to detail, the ability to adapt to change, exercise initiative, and use independent judgment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities1. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.2. Performs advanced analyses, synthesizes information and develops findings in support of the strategic, operating and business planning processes as well as the executive decision-making process.3. Assists in the preparation of strategic, operating and business plans for the entity, region or system.4. Collects qualitative and quantitative information. Prepares accurate and timely routine and ad hoc quantitative and qualitative reports.5. Builds/maintains working knowledge of healthcare market trends, planning methodologies and other relevant tools.6. Participates in the development of routine market and competitive reports.7. Assists in the evaluation and implementation of new planning software tools.8. Maintains planning databases and planning systems including data integrity, accuracy and resolution of data issues.9. Presents findings in oral, graphic and written communications format.10.
