Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, makers of YellaWood(R) brand pressure treated pine, is looking for a Regional Safety Manager for its facilities in the Northeast Region- Hagerstown, Maryland, Fombell, Pennsylvania, and Rocky Mount, Virginia. Thanks to 15 full-service facilities, Great Southern Wood is strategically located to provide prompt and efficient service to lumber yards and building supply stores across a broad geographic region - from the Florida Keys to Texas to the Canadian border.This position is responsible for working with and through both Local and Regional Management at all locations to ensure compliance with all Federal and State(s) safety and health regulations. Will provide safety support for regional locations through development, coordination, and training of all safety programs and objectives.Preferred locations: Hagerstown, MD or Fombell, PA. The candidate should have the ability to travel between the locations as required. Some remote work may be available.Duties and responsibilities essential for this position include: Develops, plans, and implements written safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. (Ie-OSHA)Develops, educates, communicates, monitors, and tracks Regional safety goals.Identifies safety training needs and develops, educates, and coordinates regional and site specific safety training programs.Maintains regional safety files and record keeping.Schedules and coordinates safety audits/inspections at each location on monthly basis.
